TOP people: Rick Rawson

The speakers are wonderful and the music is unparalleled but it's the people you meet and the connections you form that make One project gatherings so unforgettable. In the weeks leading up to our Seattle gathering (February 14-16, 2016), we'll be highlighting a few of the faces you can look out for around the ballroom at the Westin Hotel.

Rick Rawson

"The One project changed my spiritual life and reinvigorated my faith in the future of the Seventh-day Adventist church. When I see the relationships created, the love and acceptance demonstrated in the openness and diversity of the participants, I catch a glimpse of a church that seeks to grow in its understanding of what Jesus Christ intended for it. The One project is having a significant impact in the Adventist Church, but more importantly in the lives of those who experience the transformational power of Jesus."

Rick Rawson is the chief strategist and co-founder of HC2 Strategies, Inc., a healthcare strategy consulting company based in Rancho Cucamonga, CA. He also is an assistant clinical professor in the Loma Linda University School of Public Health where he teaches in the MBA program. Rick lives near Temecula, CA, on a 5-acre avocado farm with Sandee, his wife of 33 years. His daughter Shauna, son-in law David, and grandson Danny also live on the farm.

Rick spent his childhood in the mission field living in the Philippines, Japan, and Singapore until he was 14 years old. He attended Pacific Union College and graduated with a degree in business from Loma Linda University (La Sierra) in 1983. He received his MBA from Cal State Bakersfield in 1991. After working in a number of financial management roles in Southern, Central, and Northern California, Rick served as the chief executive officer for three hospitals over 16 years before starting HC2 in 2015.

Rick enjoys golfing, traveling, speaking, and learning. He dreams of retracing the route of the "Motorcycle Diaries” through South America.

Of the upcoming One project gathering taking place in Seattle in February 2016, Rick says, "I am looking forward to building new relationships, deepening my relationship with Jesus, and participating in Advance as we explore how we share the love of Jesus through the healthcare ministries of our church."
