“Online church can only arouse our need for community. It can never satisfy, which is why we need to be together.”
Sam said this in February nearly one year ago, before 2020 hit its stride and stomped all over the world. We need to be together in Jesus name. It's what we were designed for . We need to find as many ways as we can to encourage, inspire and engage with each other in a way that shares love and not Covid 19. This is our challenge. In Jesus name we can.

When Sam talked about corporate worship I was sad because that is one of the things I miss the most from church BUT I was also encouraged because I know we can have it again one day. It also reminded me of the beauty of singing together.
In Estonia they get together every 5 years to sing the songs of their people. They say it is to remind them that they are one person and that they breathe as one. This video explains it better (I also recommend the documentary The Singing Revolution). One day soon we will be able to 'breathe as one’ but until then, listen and share these powerful anthem songs with others.

Sam refers to Revelation 19 where we will all sing together. Until then get your praise on and sing along with these worship videos.

MUSIC // Hillsong Worship — 'So Will I'
MUSIC // Hillsong Worship feat. Lauren Daigle— 'How Great Thou Art'
I have missed singing together in church so much! Watching this video and hearing the voices of the people singing with Lauren Daigle is awe inspiring. How beautiful it will be to sing together again and again for eternity. Play this one loud and join in.

All it needed for this to work is a desire to work together to make something beautiful for the people. Sounds like church to me.
“One of the reasons we started the one project is because we love church”. Just like the musicians in this video, bring what you have and give it as an act of worship.

What does it take for us to put aside our differences and sing about what makes us the same. Jesus love for us and…. our love for one another.

MAKE // A "better together" snack
Ame Fowler | Chattanooga USA
Can you think of foods that taste better when eaten together? How about cake and ice cream? Or cheese and crackers? Some people can’t get enough of peanut butter and chocolate. Some people love spaghetti and meatballs. I always eat grilled cheese and tomato soup together. Think of things that are better together. Make a snack for you and your family based on two things you think would be great together.
We are like this. We are better together. Sometimes we seem so different from others and yet, we get along so well and become friends for life. We are built for community. This year, make an effort to spend time with people. Maybe you can video chat with your sisters who live in different states. Maybe go on an outdoor walk with a friend you’ve been meaning to catch up with. Maybe invite someone over for a bonfire to just chat about life.

Try and connect with people this week whether that's a Zoom connect with people from your church like Sonya mentions or checking in on your neighbour. Seek out community, wherever you are.

As we make our return back to a sense of normalcy after these pandemic restrictions come to a close, we may find that we are out of shape when it comes to differing with people. We have spent an inordinate amount of time in isolation and quarantine, and our muscle memory for community may have become lethargic. As we gear up to return to church in-person, now is a good time to practice how to play well together, and with it, make mistakes together. This game is an exercise to reinvigorate those grace-filled muscles in our soul that will need to be in working condition as we gather together after so much time away. Differing with grace takes practice! Start your training regiment now so that you’ll be ready when the time comes to display the hard work you put in while in quarantine!
