Sam’s message covered the section that deals with giving to the poor, prayer and fasting. Jesus encouraged His listeners to do all of these in “secret”. This appeal stood in contrast to the practices of His day. If we were to take Jesus seriously, in what ways are we currently “practicing our righteousness” in public that need to be in secret?

Sam said that the Lord’s Prayer contains three renditions of one petition: God be God on Earth so that Heaven is here also. In what ways do you most need Heaven to be manifest on earth today?
